Program Preference

Summer Session is hiring Summer Resident Assistants (SRA) to work with University or High School Level students. Please indicate the population with which you are interested in working. Note: current first year students (rising second years) may only work with the High School Level.

Beyond undergraduate/graduate and high school, Summer Session serves a specialized population in the the International Honors Program (IHP). IHP is a selective, 8-week program created through a collaborative admissions process with our designated university partners from around the world. IHP students are high-performing, talented, and demonstrate a history of academic success. The International Honors Program combines top-notch academics with specialized extracurricular activities created especially for this population. IHP students live in an exclusive residential environment, forming a community of dedicated international students. Residential staff interested in this program should have experience or interest in working with international students. Those with study abroad experience are highly encouraged to apply.

This includes classes, internships, other jobs, etc. Please note that students accepting one of our residential positions are required to limit their outside work/study commitments to no more than 40 combined hours a week (i.e., an SRA working 20 hours/week would only be able to have outside obligations amounting to 20 additional hours/week).

Being on staff requires you to be a leader among your residents. Describe a time when you served as a leader within a community of your peers, or near-peers, and explain why you were successful.

Summer Session policies are designed to keep our community safe and healthy. Ensuring resident compliance with these policies is an important part of a summer staff position. Please describe a time you were required to uphold an unpopular rule and explain how you responded.

You have been asked to create an on-campus program for students. Please review the parameters below and describe a program you would plan for your students. Be sure to include how this particular program would benefit Summer Session students. Be creative!

30 students will attend the program.
Programs can be educational, academic, community building, and/or fun in nature.
Program budget: $100.

Applicants are required to submit information for one reference. References need not be Stanford affiliates, but should be able to speak to the applicant's skills as a residential staff member.
